Tutoring connects deep subject knowledge with the independent research, critical thinking and communication expected in IB.
Our tutors first establish what the student understands, where support is needed and what they want to achieve. Lessons then combine explicit teaching, guided practice and independent application, with regular feedback to make progress visible.

Understand your course
IB Diploma: connect subject knowledge with independent thinking.
The Diploma Programme combines six subjects with TOK, the Extended Essay and CAS. Lessons can help you explain your reasoning, connect ideas and plan revision. For maths, tell us whether you study AA or AI, and SL or HL, so we can confirm suitable support.
How assessment works
IB subjects combine external assessment with internal assessment. Most courses include final exams; other tasks may involve oral work, investigations or coursework. Teachers mark internally assessed work, which is moderated by the IB. Check the subject brief for your level and syllabus, and your school for submission deadlines.
Choose studies organised into Units 1–4, with flexibility to focus on your interests.
Six subjects plus Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
Depth and breadth
Units 3 and 4 develop advanced understanding in your chosen studies.
Three or four subjects at Higher Level (HL), with the remainder at Standard Level (SL).
Assessment
Scored studies combine school-based and external assessment; weightings vary by subject.
Subject-specific internal and external assessment, alongside core requirements.
Planning your workload
Balance coursework, SACs or SATs where applicable, and examinations.
Balance six subjects, coursework, core commitments and final examinations.
VCE may suit students who want more freedom to concentrate on particular subjects. IB may appeal to students who enjoy breadth and sustained independent work. Neither is automatically easier or better. Discuss interests, school subject availability, university prerequisites and learning support with your school before choosing.
The November session runs from 23 October to 13 November 2026. Selected maths papers are below. Confirm your school’s allocated exam zone and local start times with your IB coordinator; coursework deadlines are separate.

What does IA and Extended Essay guidance involve?
Support focuses on understanding the task, developing a plan and discussing the reasoning behind the student’s work. Students remain responsible for their own research, analysis and writing, following their school’s assessment rules.
